For a long time the brain was considered to be fixed when we reached adulthood and the only change after that was decay. Modern research has proven this to be false. Neuroplasticity or brain plasticity is the ability of the nerve pathways (or neural networks) in our brains to change in response to new experiences. This can be the creation of new connections, structural reorganisation or even functional change within the brain. It can happen at any age.
